2011 End or Year Update and News

Dear Larimer GOP:

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is ready for a Happy New Year.

The last year has brought us unique and inspiring challenges. The Larimer GOP has gone from close to $35,000 in debt to having over $8,000 in the bank. We restructured Board operations so that we will not have a repeat of what happened. We will be introducing by-laws changes that will guarantee the proper checks and balances are in place. We have the groundwork laid for a successful caucus.

I am incredibly proud of the work of the Larimer County Executive Board. We’ve come along way in a short period.

The Larimer County GOP and Board are well positioned for 2012. We will deliver Larimer County for the eventual Republican nominee for president, as well as for a majority of our local candidates for office.

However, in order for us to be as successful as possible it is going to require a new Chairman. It has been an honor serving as the Chairman of the Larimer GOP during these difficult times. But it is necessary for me to resign at this time.  As many of you know, I am small business owner. Serving as Chair requires a tremendous amount of hours away from business and because of my absence business has suffered.

I feel great about the position of the Party and the leadership on the Board. Now is the right time for me to step aside. A new Chairman will be elected at our central committee meeting on January 12th. My resignation will be effective January 1.

Thank you for all of your support during the last year. More importantly, thank you for your continued support.

Respectfully yours,

Tom Lucero
